Donna Buang Sunday Run
Exploratory Sunday Run
Sunday, 24th November
After a lenghty intermission for winter and snow fun…
We’re going to Donna Buang on Sunday 24 November, to check out some
sweet, sweet fire looking trails at altitude, possibly a good place to
run long in the heat this summer. I want to thoroughly explore this
amazing area, which could take a fair few Sundays! We’ll also chuck in a
few km of funky singletrack that we found last weekend. Hilliness will
be moderate – a bit of up and down, but not silly. If you’re fine at
Ferny then you’ll be fine here. The surface will suit normal runners or
trail shoes. The vegetation is alpine forest – plenty of mountain ash,
mountain gum and ferns – it’s pretty green! The fire trails we saw had
plenty of lovely soft grass on them too.

We’ll leave Melbourne Uni about 7:15 am. About 1:40 for the drive, 90
-120 mins for the run, plus allowances, should see us back at MU by 1 or
2.
Bottle belts are recommended, as with any completely new area (water
should be available at the creek crossings).
I’ll provide navigational services as usual.
Would people please RSVP by Thursday 21 November, also saying whether
you are able to provide a car to the enterprise (with # seats if so).
Let’s run trail 🙂
