A hardy bunch of MUAC athletes took to the track on Saturday, despite early inclement conditions. MUAC’s Division One Women, lead by points accumulating machine Kira Davey, took another solid early season win, scoring 7528 points. ┬áThe MUAC Division One Men suffered their first defeat of the season, finding themselves in third place behind Essendon and Western Athletics with a score of 3738 points.

Top scorers of the day were walks phenom Jemima Montag with 530 points for her 13:16.9 performance in the 3000m, and the vaulting trio of Kath Iannello, Tamara Mancuso and Kate Abfalter who all scored 512 points for their 3.60m clearances. Stefan Mancuso and Jarrod Pageot topped the men’s point scoring with their 409 point haul for vaulting 3.75m. ┬áKira Davey’s 2525 points haul for the round would have beaten some team total scores. A big shout out to the MUAC Women on their solid relay run as we look towards State Relay Championships in a month.

MUAC will be in action next weekend for Round 4 of AV Shield.
