We’ve come a long way, baby!
Shield Round 2
26 hardy MUAC athletes made the trek north to Meadowglen International Athletics Stadium to compete in Round 2 of Athletics Victoria’s Shield Competition, ignoring the recent apocalyptic conditions and arduous nature of the trip, reminiscent of Cormac McCarthy’s ‘The Road’. Summoned by the clarion call of AV’s text message on Saturday, 16th of October, athletes tested themselves over 10 events and emerged victorious, with MUAC claiming first in Division 1 Men and second in Division 1 women. Once again MUAC dominated the relays claiming first in both Division 1 4x400m relays competitions, Individual honours went to Paul Kennedy in the 3000m walk, winning in 13:57. Hannah Alderton won the Women’s High Jump (1.65m) and Long Jump (5.19m) while Jarrod Pageot claimed first in the Men’s High Jump (1.85m) and Long Jump (6.82m). The afternoon concluded with repast of tasty treats from the Meadowglen canteen.
MUAC returns to competition this Saturday, 23rd of October at Aberfeldie.
