Round 9 XCR’17: Burnley Half Marathon

Lisa Weightman led MUAC’s Premier Women’s team to a season high fourth place at the Victorian Half Marathon Championships on Sunday.  Weightman claimed her first Victorian Half Marathon title and joined with Lisa Dick, Ruby Turner, Pippa Trevella and Marie Parsons take a big step in securing MUAC’s position in the top division for 2018.  MUAC’s U20 Women claimed yet another victory with Anna Cross, Alley Miller and Sarah Lloyd ensuring that the team maintained their daunting lead on the premiership ladder with one round remaining.  Nick Earl lead the MUAC Premier Men, with his bronze medal anchoring the team’s second place.  MUAC debutant Nick Dennis, Max Ueda, Jack Powell and Fred Smithers all ran strongly to further cement MUAC’s Premier Men in second place on the ladder.  A 17 strong contingent of men took to the course, giving MUAC’s Division Two (fourth) and Division Three (seventh) valuable points as the conclusion of the season looms.

MUAC will be back in action this Saturday for Round 10 of XCR’17, the Princes Park Relays.
