MUAC takes the long run into promotion zone

XCR19 Round 9: Burnley Half Marathon

MUAC took a strong team to the Victorian Half Marathon Championships on Yarra Boulevard. Strong performances across the women’s teams put MUAC’s Division 3 team into a promotion spot.

The medico stacked Division 3 team of Lisa Dick, Alex Bull and Sarah Lucas claimed a 11 point victory to put the team six points clear of third place, and in line for promotion to Division 2.  The Premier Women, not to miss out on the fun, claimed second place with Elly Benson, Danielle Bryan, Amy McCormick and Gabriella Springall putting the team within striking distance (just 3 points) of the podium with one round remaining of XCR19. The Division 5 men also jumped out of the relegation zone.

Frankie Conway led home a big contingent of MUAC men, running a scorching 66:46 PB. Jonny Earl made his MUAC debut, finally, with his doppelgänger watching on from the sidelines.  It was a day for PBs with cool, clear conditions and no wind and there were lots of them.  The club collected a PB too with a record turnout for the half marathon.

Premier Women 2nd, 76 points

Division 3 Women 1st, 96 points

Premier Men 5th, 215 points

Premier Men 5th
