MUAC Men continue unbeaten streak on Derby Day
AV Shield Round 3
Competition went ahead in a muggy Williamstown after some morning storms and rainfall throughout Melbourne. Once again MUAC men’s div 1 scored a comprehensive victory of nearly 300 points to further extend their lead on the ladder. Women’s Div 1 scored a narrow 2nd by a very close margin of less than 20 points with promising results ahead once MUAC fields a full squad of jumpers as the team pushes to secure Women’s Div 1 position in the finals. The MUAC Women now share the top of the ladder going into Round 4. Big thanks to Dawn Hartigan coming to do three events to score points for the club towards the end of the day. Dawn and Kath Iannello were top two in the Division 1 discus and javelin and second and third in the Long Jump. The Men filled a grand slam of field events, with all twelve scoring spots in our team bringing points to the team, showing great pride in the sash. Ellen Schaef started the day with a gritty 1500m win in a national qualifier and ran an impressive 400m at the death. Elizabeth Rauch, our one woman U18 team, took home 5th place on her own. A big thank you to all the volunteers for the Long Jump all day!
