New Toys

Melbourne University Athletics Club has leapt in a new era with the delivery of a set of Olympic standard pole vault gear.  The purchase of the landing bags, stands and equipment was made possible by a generous donation from MUAC member and 2009 World Masters Games Pole Vault Silver Medallist Lyndsey Cattermole and a matched contribution from the University of Melbourne.  The University now has two complete pole vault sets, allowing two competitions to be held at once and further advance it as a Centre for Excellence for pole vault training and competition.
Intrepid MUAC members braved 40 degree temperatures to unload the equipment on Monday, 11th January and set it up.
