At the Victorian Country Championships in Bendigo, from 13th to 15th of January, a strong contingent of MUAC sprinters and jumpers competed and delivered some impressive results. Seamus Hayes and Luka Cosic made the final of the 400m, with Hayes claiming third place in the final in 50.77.  Kath Clarke took second in the 100m in 13.14, and won the 400m in 55.23, with Carmen Deane (recently qualified for the Australian Championships in the heptathlon) taking third in the 400m.  Jo Bromfield took advantage of home track advantage to win the Triple Jump with a performance of 12.20m, with squad mates John Peavey (1.90m, 2nd) and Hannah Alderton (1.73m, 2nd) also performing well in the High Jump.  Carmen Deane also took 3rd in the 200m in 27.61 and Seamus Hayes followed up his strong 400m with a second in the 200m running 22.47.  Jarrod Pageot showed that his return to the top level is here, jumping 7.10m to win the Long Jump.

Mitch Mackenzie, MUAC Summer Manager, competed at the  Brisbane Track Classic on Saturday, January 14th in the High Jump, clearing 1.89m to take fourth place.

In another impressive result for MUAC’s training camp at Falls Creek, Sarah James and Paul Munro took victories in Jan Juc SLSC’s Bells Bash on Friday, 13th of January.
