AV Knockout Round 1

Cath Macrae and Martin Mashford topped the standings at Round 1 of AV Knockout on Sunday held across two tracks in Melbourne. Macrae jumped 3.50m at Lakeside Stadium to come out on top of the Pole Vault, with squad mates Kath Iannello (4th, 3.20m) and Dawn Hartigan (5th, 3.05m) not far behind.  Leon D’Onofrio vaulted 3.95m for 5th the men’s competition.  Seamus Hayes took out Section 2 of the 100m in 11.49 and backed up with at 22.90 for 5th in Section 1 of the 200m. Across the city at Doncaster, Martin Mashford to control of the 1500m early making a long move for home to record a season’s best 3:56.19. The national qualifying time now beckons after some solid festive training. Max Ueda took out fourth in the 3000m in a PB 9:24.08.
