Mountain to Surf, Lorne

MUAC’s Falls Creek training camp claimed a clean sweep of the women’s medals at the 2012 Mountain to Surf, on Friday, 6th January.  Rosie Donegan, an Australian representative at the World Mountain Running Championships, found the steep hills amenable to fast running and claimed the win in 27:56 minutes, ahead of Annabelle Wilson (28:51), a Chilwell Athletics member, and Sarah James (29:17) of MUAC.  All three had just returned from training at Falls Creek with MUAC.
Leigh Goedecke, also back from Falls Creek, ran well to claim 13th place in 26:45.  Tony Brain (31:13), MUAC middle and long distance coach, showed no ill effects from having spent the summer break at sea level, though he did follow home all his athletes.
