Donegan returns to take Bronze as MUAC consolidates top five positions

Bundoora Cross Country

RosieRosie Donegan, back in Melbourne after her freshman year at the University of New Hampshire, found the  familiar surrounds of Bundoora Park to her liking and claimed her first open medal at the Victorian Cross Country Championships.  Donegan stormed through the field in the second of two 4km laps to work her way into a podium position.  The Championships doubled as the Victorian Selection Trials for the Australian Cross Country Championships and Donegan now has a strong claim on a Victorian jersey.
MUAC’s women’s team continue their strong run through the XCR13 season, claiming 4th place at Victoria’s biggest day of cross country racing, with Donegan, Ruth Mills, the departing Alex Bull and Claire Boulange running well over the testing Bundoora course.
MUAC’s men continue to thrive in the Premier Division taking 5th place on Saturday and finding themselves only 4 points out of third on the Premiership Ladder at the halfway point of the season.  The Division 1 team of Mark Kirwan, Grant Morgan, David Paroissien, Alex van der Meer, Zac Newman and Andrew Selby Smith flews around the 12km course over Mt Cooper in Bundoora, with some choice words of encouragement from Neil ‘Catalogue’ Sampson.  The ranks of the White Train men will bolstered significantly with the imminent return of nightclub dynamos Charlie Sheldon and Pete Shearman, the angriest man on the internet Paddy White and the forgotten one, Leigh Goedecke.
