Thursday Night Lights

Round 4 Shield Report

A warm Thursday night at Aberfeldie saw MUAC athletes in full flight at the first twilight meet of the year.

The MUAC Event of the Round was the 400m and a new participation record was set for the season with 20 MUAC athletes taking part.  Fine individual performances came from Lauren Jauncey winning the 100m in 12.09, Paul Kennedy again saluting for a win in the 2000m walk, Jessie Layman winning the Under 16 90m hurdles and Pole Vault.  Our Pole Vault domination continued with Anthony Hanna winning the Open Mens with a jump of 4.80m, enough to qualify him for the nationals, and Irie Hill winning the Open Womens with 3.60m.  The evening ended on a comic note with Hamish Beaumont winning the 3000m steeplechase.
MUAC had five relay teams in action, showing the depth and enthusiasm the team possesses.

Well done to all the MUAC athletes, coaches and officials who came out to Aberfeldie for some good competition, pleasant socialising and the best dim sims in athletics.

Results and ladders will hopefully be out soon.

Round 5 is at Coburg on Saturday the 14th of November.
